This session was so special to me for a couple reasons. First, Jack is the son of my college sorority sister, and it’s always such a treat to document a friend’s new baby and transition to motherhood, and of course, have a chance to catch up. Amy wanted a hybrid classic newborn session and lifestyle session – something a bit outside my usual wheelhouse. Alas, I’m always up for trying new things, and I am so glad we did this. Lifestyle photography is a completely different genre than posed newborns – no extensive posing/adjusting, working with your environment rather than creating it, and moving with a looser “flow” if you will. And I just love how these turned out. I mean of course how couldn’t they be amazing, just look at how cute baby Jack is!

I’m thinking of adding lifestyle sessions as an option for newborns. Thoughts, friends?
