Oh these girls just make my heart grin. Seriously, I spent the entire time editing this session with a huge smile on my face, remembering how sweet and silly and just wonderful these little ladies were. Family photography isn’t always easy, contrary to what some may believe. There’s a good amount of cardio involved (running, chasing, more running, dancing, hopping like a bunny…). There’s some rock and/or other small object-dodging at times. There’s the occasional meltdown (kids, mom, dad, everyone…). My photography style is super laid-back and all about having fun with the kiddos, and encouraging parents to have fun and just love on their babies. Kids respond best when they’re free to play, be silly, be themselves. These girls were absolutely so easy to photograph because their parents embraced that awesome philosophy. You can just see their joy radiating in these pictures! Future session parents – take a deep breath and let your babies’ little spirits shine! In 5, 10, 20 years you’ll want to look back at images that remind you of those little people they were in that moment, their personalities center stage. Don’t you worry – I’ll get the classic “cheeeeese” shot, but I guarantee the ones you’ll love most one day are the ones that capture their spunky real selves.
